Candace Van Auken
Candace Van Auken has worked both as a writer and an information systems manager. She has been writing and editing professionally for 25 years. Most recently she served as chair of a research advisory committee for a nonprofit patient support organization and managed the web site of another nonprofit organization advocating for children with a rare disease. She is proud to be an associate member of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology as well as a member of both the American Medical Writers Association and the Association of Computing Machinery.
She was valedictorian of her high school class and went on to receive her B.A., summa cum laude, from Wells College, where she majored in Psychology, received awards in creative writing and science, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She received a B.S. in Information Technology from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, where she was inducted into Alpha Sigma Lambda, a national honor society for continuing education. She received her M.A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
Her personal interests include music (keyboards and concertinas), web development, birding and nature study, Eastern philosophy, and dogs.
